SDHC Receives $7.5 Million Wells Fargo Foundation Grant for Collaboration to Increase Homeownership Opportunities for People of Color

We did it, San Diego!

Si podemos.. I am very proud and honored to share with you that, The San Diego Housing Commission and Collaboration of local non-profit organizations was chosen one of the finalist Cities to receive the Wells Fargo Wealth Opportunities Restored through Homeownership (WORTH) BIPOC initiative. The initiative supports increasing BIPOC homeownership by creating 5,000 net new BIPOC homeowners in our market by 2025. The goal of this initiative is to increase net new BIPOC homeownership by 40,000 over a four-year period in eight markets. CPPT Monica Montgomery Steppe.

@cd4monica stated it perfectly, "We must take steps to address long-standing systemic inequities in our housing system. Today, we celebrate San Diego, one of eight cities nationwide that received the @WellsFargo $7.5M donation from its WORTH initiative. This funding will help close the historical racial homeownership gaps and bring home buying closer to many families of color" Please share this information about the implementation of this grant with other practitioners, friends and family.. And reach out to me directly if you would like to help be the generational change that makes a difference in someones life..
